História da educação e estatística escolar: o processo de escolarização em Minas Gerais no século 19

Apresenta alguns resultados de uma investigação que tem como objeto o processo de escolarização em Minas Gerais no século 19, na qual fez-se necessário discutir a questão das estatísticas escolares, analisando o processo de produção e a apresentação das mesmas. Inicialmente, faz-se uma reflexão acerca da importância da pesquisa em história da educação incorporar as estatísticas escolares com um de seus objetos e, a seguir, são apresentados e analisados os dados referentes ao processo de escolarização na Província de Minas Gerais no século 19.Palavras-chave: história da educação; estatística escolar; escolarização; século 19.AbstractThis text aims to present some of the results of an investigation carried out with the objective of analyzing the learning process in Minas Gerais in the 19 century through discussing the issue of schooling statistics, examining the out-put process with subsequent presentation of these results. Initially, we went through a reflection about the relevance of a research on the history of education to incorporate the schooling statistics as one of its objectives and later on, we presented and analyzed the data on learning process in the Province of Minas Gerais in the 19 century.
