The Oklahoma City stockyards are the largest stocker‐feeder public market in the world. Trends in how cattle are marketed indicate long‐term declining prospects. This case presents a history and strategic prospects for the Stockyards. It also illustrates the changing nature of cattle marketing, competition, and vertical coordination. An opportunity to apply strategic decision making is provided.
