O ATAQUE À EDUCAÇÃO PÚBLICA E À DEMOCRACIA PELAS CONTRARREFORMAS E O FUNDAMENTALISMO AULA MAGNA PROFERIDA NO CURSO DE PEDAGOGIA - NITERÓI, DA FACULDADE DE EDUCAÇÃO DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL FLUMINENSE, EM AGOSTO DE 2019.

O texto nasce de uma palestra proferida pelo autor na Aula Magna do Curso de Pedagogia - Niterói, da Universidade Federal Fluminense, em agosto de 2019 e discute os ataques que a educação pública e a democracia vêm sofrendo nos tempos hodiernos. Apresenta pressupostos sobre os espaços de atuação na sociedade e as ferramentas da universidade e seu papel na produção de conhecimento para transformação da realidade. Levanta um percurso histórico problematizando de onde viemos, o que nos define estruturalmente como sociedade. Culmina nos aspectos contemporâneos do contexto brasileiro, apontando uma discussão sobre o golpe de Estado de 2016, as contrarreformas e o fundamentalismo de extrema direita que desponta no país. Provoca o pensar sobre qual deve ser a luta da educação no processo de formação dos sujeitos. The text is born from a lecture given by the author in the Aula Magna of the Pedagogy Course - Niterói, Fluminense Federal University, in August 2019 and discusses the attacks that public education and democracy have been suffering in modern times. It presents assumptions about the spaces of action in society and the tools of the university and their role in the production of knowledge for reality transformation. It raises a historical course questioning where we came from, which defines us structurally as a society. It culminates in contemporary aspects of the Brazilian context, pointing to a discussion about the 2016 coup d'état, the counter-reforms and the extreme right fundamentalism that is emerging in the country. It provokes thinking about what should be the struggle of education in the process of formation of subjects.
