Polythene degradation is a challenge all over the world. It is a serious problem throughout the globe to reduce polythene garbage. Every year 500 billion to 1 trillion polythene carry bags are being consumed around the globe. It is a huge amount to be used across the globe. Its degradation process is very slow as compare to other wastes and takes many years to decompose. It also have adverse effect on the environment and living organisms. In this review paper we are trying to attract attention on polythene pollution, it’s possible methods to decrease the polythene level, its degradation process and future needs on polythene degradation. Keywords: Polythene, Degradation, Pollution, Waste.
