ET_CSDLL (Evapotranspiration–CropSyst Dynamic Link Library) is a Microsoft (MS) COM (component object model) library containing routines to estimate reference crop evapotranspiration (ET 0 ) following the guidelines of the FAO Irrigation and Drainage Paper no. 56 for implementing the Penman–Monteith (P‐M) equation. In addition, the Priestley–Taylor equation is also included for calculating ET 0 for conditions where meteorological data are insufficient to apply the P‐M equation. The dynamic link library (DLL) can be used in MS Excel spreadsheets and in code developed using a visual MS Windows programming language. Examples are shown to illustrate the use of the DLL in MS Excel and MS Visual Basic applications.
