Synopsis The contents of K, P, Mg, and Ca were higher in the crowns than in the roots of both legumes, and generally were higher in red clover tissue. The greatest changes from fall to spring in content of each mineral occurred in the crowns. It was not clearly evident whether certain of the minerals were involved in the hardening process or not.
