The article the use of economic methods methods to study the state and efficiency of the use of material resources of industrial enterprises is proposed. The current state of the material resources of enterprises is analyzed on the basis of statistical data. It is proved that the following depends on the efficiency of material resources management: product quality; uninterrupted production support; resource efficiency; compliance with the deadlines for the execution of orders; the cost of production and, ultimately, the profitability of production. The analysis showed that the traditional mechanisms for managing the material resources of an enterprise do not meet new market requirements. In this regard, the stages of assessing the effectiveness of the use of material resources at the enterprise are proposed. Strategic priorities and tasks for each of the stages of the analysis have been identified. A diagnostic model of the efficiency of using material resources of industrial enterprises, obtained on the basis of discriminant analysis, is developed and proposed. The obtained discriminant functions are used to construct a map of differentiation of the efficiency of the use of material resources, statistical estimates of the synthesized models show high significance and adequacy.
