This paper analyses the efficiency of health insurance providers inBrazil. It builds on financial indicators and features of these organizations that relate to their efficiency scores. The results points to homogeneous efficiency among health insurance providers. Most organizations considered as efficient according to the model fall in the “group medicine” segment. All of them are also located inSoutheastern Brazil. Efficient organizations were either large or medium-sized organizations.
