Abstract To render gray levels on a PDP, there is always a trade‐off between addressing and sustain periods. This paper introduces an addressing and coding scheme, called Bit Line Repeat (BLR), which takes benefit of video redundancies to increase the number of Sub‐Fields (SF) without losing any definition or brightness.
