Abstract A reflective‐color TFT‐LCD with high contrast ratio (80:1) and high reflective (36%) has been developed using a vertical alignmet (VA) mode. Use of both the VA mode and a newly developed photo‐maskless for fabricating a diffusing reflector has achieved a high‐performance, simple and low‐cost reflective display.
