ROSAS NEGRAS E O HORIZONTE: acesso e êxito das estudantes negras cotistas na UNIR

A fim de investigar as contribuições trazidas pela política de cotas para a construção de um ambiente universitário público mais democrático e plural, este estudo se propôs a descrever e analisar o processo de implantação do sistema de cotas no Campus Porto Velho da Universidade Federal de Rondônia (UNIR), com enfoque nas estudantes negras. Realiza, assim, uma análise documental e análise de dados quantitativos. Destaca que os resultados apontamcumprimento do total da reserva obrigatória um ano antes do prazo, ainda que sob problemas no processoe observa que cresceu onúmero de vagas ocupadas por mulheres cotistas negras, que apresentaram uma taxa de sucesso acadêmico maior e uma taxa de “abandono” menor, se comparadas com homens negros cotistas. Conclui que não foi possível verificar resultadossignificativos para a promoção da permanência e êxito dessas estudantes por parte da política de assistência da instituição.BLACK ROSES AND THE HORIZON: Acess and success of black quota students at UNIRAbstractIn order to investigate the contributions made by the quota policy to the construction of a more democratic and plural public university environment, this study aimed to describe and analyze the process of implementing the quota system in the Porto Velho Campus of the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR), with a focus on black female students. Thus, it performs adocument analysis and analysis of quantitative data. Emphasizes that the results show compliance with the total mandatory reserve one year before the deadline, even though there are problems in the process, and observes that the number of vacancies occupied by black quota women has increased, with a higher academic success rate and a rate of " abandonment” lower, if compared to black male quota holders.
