Using reasonability of new class of hump mouth structures was based. The disadvantages of typicalstructures of hump mouths, also structures, which are used at the Ukrainian and CIS railway stations were pointed to. Disposal ways of revealed disadvantages in separate foreign countries were noted. Scientificways to designing and calculation of hump mouths parameters were analyzed. Mathematic definition modelof needed number of car retarder at the break positions of sorting hump and rational variant their disposition within drain part was formed. Optimization criterion of constructive structure parameters of hump mouths with car retarder of light types was proposed. Scientific task was produced as task in stochastic integer-valued programming with non-linear target function and non-linear limitation inequality. In conclusion, proposed mathematic definition model of needed number of car retarder at the break positions of sorting hump and rational variant their disposition within drain part is allowed to get one orseveral alternative placing schemes of low-power delay mechanism in the testing area, it is given a possibility more objective estimation of effectiveness application of hump mouths structures of new class.
