UMA INICIATIVA DE SUCESSO: A HISTÓRIA DO JCEC

Este artigo apresenta a “curta” história do desenvolvimento do Periódico JCEC (The Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences). A história teve a sua marca inicial com o lançamento de um projeto audacioso chamado Revista Brasileira de Engenharia Química e Química (REQ2). Inicialmente, poucos manuscritos foram publicados, mas ao longo de sua curta existência a JCEC tem crescido e evoluído bastante ano a ano, com vários volumes editados, os quais apresentam manuscritos de alta qualidade como referência para a comunidade científica. O nome do periódico foi alterado recentemente de modo a proporcionar maior abrangência quanto às sub-áreas de pesquisa, contribuindo assim constantemente com mais opções de referenciamento e acesso ao conhecimento para a comunidade científica. O periódico oferece o sistema de indexação pelo código DOI (Digital Object Identifier) e o sistema de controle de plágio no intuito de manter a originalidade dos manuscritos publicados.A B S T R A C T This article presents the “short” story on the development of the Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences (JCEC). It started with an audacious project named “Journal of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry” (REQ2). At the beginning, few manuscripts were published, but along its short existence the JCEC has grown and evolved every year, with several edited volumes, which feature high-quality manuscripts as reference for the academic community. The name of the periodical was recently changed so as to embrace all possible related fields of research, and to consistently contribute with more options for referral and access of knowledge by the scientific community. The periodical offers the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) indexing system and the Similarity Check Plagiarism Screening system to control the originality of the published manuscripts.
