The article discusses the problem of expression of semantic category of animatenessinanimateness with morphological, lexical and word-formation means, it experiments with modeling the structure word-formation segment of functional-semantic field of animatenessinanimateness in the modern Russian language. In the center of this segment of the analyzed functional-semantic field there are substantive word-formation types, marked by animatenessinanimateness. The periphery of segment is formed in a similar manner by marked word-formation attributive types of words adjectives and verbs.
