The article considers character of the consumption of many-sided non-re-sharpened carbide inserts during the whetting of experimental high carbon alloy steel 75HGFC. There are made recommendations for choice of plate forms, corners of a cutting part and the type of wear-resistant coatings rear and front surfaces.
