The paper discusses the results of determining the gamma-radiation exposure dose rate above the soils of the Kirchhof hill (Leningrad region) and assesses the radiation hazard of the territory. In accordance with Methodological Guidelines MG 2.6.1.2398-08, part of the studied area of 39 hectares is not suitable for the construction of residential and public buildings due to the relatively high level of soil radioactivity. On the whole, the soils of the Kirchhof hill potentially dangerous for the health of people in the event of their prolonged stay at or near this elevation. In order to reduce the anthropogenic load, it is proposed to assign the status of protected areas to this hill.
