1. On September 29, 2006, the first donors’ consultation of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) was held at the World Bank. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Katherine Sierra, Vice President for Sustainable Development and Chair of GFDRR. Also attending were Ms. Margareta Wahlström, Assistant SecretaryGeneral, representing the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR), and representatives from donor governments, regional development banks, and members of the Preliminary Management Oversight Board (MOB) of the ISDR system.
