The article analyzes the practice of introducing digital technologies in the sphere of culture at the level of Russia and the Perm Region. The federal project "Digital Culture", which is one of the most important directions of the national project "Culture", is considered. Based on the traditional analysis of documents and the conducted sociological survey, the advantages and disadvantages of virtual services of digital culture are identified, and conclusions are drawn about the impossibility of completely replacing art with them.
