. In this special issue of the scientific journal “Brazilian Journal of Education, Technology and Society” (BRAJETS), which was produced in partnership with the 8th Ibero-American Congress on Qualitative Research (CIAIQ2019), its theme / thread is the “Diversity of methodologies and of approaches in the Education: When the WHOLE is greater than the SUM of the PARTS.”. The ten articles, in their extended versions (in relation to the versions published in the CIAIQ2019) of the selected and invited works, by a scientific/organizing committee of CIAIQ2019 discuss/debate about diversity, methodologies, approaches and different views in Education. As the history of the partnership between CIAIQ and BRAJETS has shown, we continuously pursue, of higher level of quality of works, the dissemination of qualitative research with the scientific community in the areas targeted by the Journal, which are: education, technology, medicine, society and internationalization of graduate programs. Always keeping in mind that, we have as focus, our major objective, to provide representativeness and quality of the articles published in this journal, for this we make sure that all of them went through a double-blind review process, through a careful analysis of a scientific committee composed of researchers of excellence, extremely qualified and active in their respective areas of expertise. Having made this preamble, we invite all of you from the academic community to enjoy reading this special issue, and we of the scientific/organizing committee of BRAJETS and CIAIQ wish all readers that this compilation of articles can be useful and inspiring for future work.
