A model based on the steps in problem solving, related to homemaker environment; infor mation sources; food consumption at home; and the events of product choice, mental evaluations, and purchase in retail markets, was developed to organize findings from 18 years of consumer behavior research. The model is offered for use by other research workers in project planning, data analysis, and reporting so that consumers may be studied simul taneously in home and market environments.
