The management of remuneration is seen as a key plank in the shift to strategic human resources management practices. Indeed, remuneration management now demands a strategic approach to ensure that an organization's pay system fits the organization's quality goals. This paper argues that a new approach, referred to as Total Quality Pay, is needed to sustain organizational improvements gained through the application of quality management principles.
