There are some major differences between working in Europe and working in Australia as a consultant in organization change. These differences relate more to theoretical positions and willingness to be open than to the use of specific techniques. In fact, there has rarely before in the behavioural sciences been such a universal adoption of like techniques. The same methods, exercises, interventions are used whether one is looking at the consultant in Britain, Europe, Asia or Australia. This in itself suggests some superficiality in that cross‐cultural differences are assumed unimportant.
