Bacteriol.88: 255–259. 1964.—The relationship between colony morphology and mycoside content previously reported forMycobacterium kansasii andM. fortuitum does not extend to group II and group III unclassified mycobacteria. Mycoside distribution studies permit a division of group II cultures into three subgroups: mycoside D group, mycoside Cm group, and a group containing no mycoside. The colony form of group II and group III isolates is more definitive on oleic acid-albumin-agar than on Corn Meal Agar. Attention is called to the differences in colony form and mycoside content for subcultures ofM. marianum obtained from two sources.
