To explore the possibility of expressing membrane-anchored exodomains of heterologous surface antigens inGiardia , a chimeric construct containing theToxoplasma gondii SAG1 gene was made. TheGiardia system is shown here to provide a means of generating correctly folded chimeric surface proteins in a native and unmodified form.
