We describe a case of catheter-related bacteremia due toStaphylococcus pseudintermedius in a child with dog exposure. The organism was confirmed asS .pseudintermedius based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and positive PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism of thepta gene.
