THE BEHAVIOUR OF CERTAIN SERIES ASSOCIATED WITH LIMITING CASES OF ELLIPTIC THETA‐FUNCTIONS. I find that the transformation formula which I gave in the third part of my paper [ Proc. London Math. Soc. (2), 27 (1928), 410–426], §4.1 (422–3), and which I used to determine the analytic character of functions such as∑ 1 ∞e x i n 2 θz n, had been established in a slightly different form by Prof. L. J. Mordell in a paper “The value of a definite integral”, Quart. J. of Math. , 48 (1920), 329–342 (341–2).
