Kline (1984) has misunderstood the implications of the semantic category model of personality which allows for a reconciliation between conflicting views of the nature of traits and does not constitute an attack on trait theory. The criticisms of the experiments supporting the model are shown to be either unfounded or to require experimentation for their resolution.
