NURTURING AN understanding of design and business within any one company is difficult. Attempting the same task across a nation might seem impossible. Andrew Summers, chief executive of the British Design Council, however, is excited by the challenge. Partnerships with other organizations are extending the Council's reach and influence. The Prime Minister hails design as essential. Most important, new thinking about the meaning of design is keeping the dialogue fresh and relevant.
