Eyes irradiated for intraocular malignancies often develop irreversible retinopathy due largely to vascular damage leading to retinal ischemia. In most advanced cases, this severe process leads to refractroy neovascular glaucoma. We will provide an overview of current biological understanding of radiation‐induced retinal vascular damage, in connection with the clinical manifestations observed in irradiated eyes.
