When I talked to Ross Stone on December 26, he gently reminded me that one of the regular activities of an AP President is to contribute regularly to this column, and that the deadline for it to be included in the February issue was the next day! After I came up with the "very legitimate" excuse that our next AdCom meeting (and my first as the President) will not be held until January 6, he agreed that I could send in mv column no later than January 8. So, at the risk of being disorganized, here is my first contribution to this column as your new President for 1990.
