ABSTRACT Artemia salina were raised and marketed successfully on a small commercial scale using indoor closed systems to provide dependable year round production. Common wholewheat flour alone proved to be an adequate food for growth through many generations. When eggs became unavailable breeding was used to maintain production. From the production data obtained we extrapolate yields of 8400‐14,400 kg/ha per year which are comparable to the yields projected for commercial raising of lobsters or shrimp. Methods and economics are given for raising large quantities of Artemia for sale or to use as food in mariculture.
