A model and computer‐based numeric approximation for computing the equilibrium distributions of contaminants at petroleum release sites is presented. A database of contaminant‐specific parameters, including solubility and organic‐carbon partitioning coefficient, is assembled. Applications and limitations of the model are discussed.
