ABSTRACT Describes investigation made to determine cause of excessive corrosion of construction materials of wells supplying domestic water to communities bordering atomic energy plant in South Carolina. Corrosion resulted from natural corrosiveness of soft water with high carbon dioxide and oxygen contents. No effect from atomic energy plant was indicated.
