Mesoporous 58S (M58S) bioactive glass was synthesized by a simple method. The structure was characterized by the XRD, TEM, and the micromeritics porosimeter. The results demonstrated that the pore size and the surface area were decreased with the increase of the preparation temperature, while the pore volume and the wall thickness were increased correspondingly. The prepared M58S showed good bioactivity in vitro . Compared with the traditional methods, less mineral acid was used, and no hydrothermal treatment is involved in the preparation process. In summary, this modified method proved to be simple, efficient, and energy saving, which is thus suitable for large‐scale mesoporous bioactive glasses production.
