Summary Intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM‐1) genetic polymorphisms (G241R and K469E) have been implicated in several autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Investigating a sample of living‐unrelated donor (LURD) kidney transplant pairs, we revealed an association between recipient K469 allele ( P = 0.013) and K/K genotype ( P = 0.042) with renal allograft acute rejection.
