SUMMARY Serolgoical and immunochemical assays detected antibodies to human la‐like antigens in five out of five rabbit antisera to cultured human B lymphoid cells but did not detect them in five bleedings from two rabbits immunized with human peripheral blood lymphocytes. These results, which may reflect differential immunogenicity of la‐like antigens from different cells, indicate that the presence of anti la‐like antibodies in heterologous antihuman lymphocyte sera is not a general phenomenon as reported recently for animal model systems.
