Lady Caroline Lamb (1785–1828), author of three Romantic novels, two long poems and several shorter lyrics was a Romantic sensation, and is probably still best known for her affair with Lord Byron. Unfortunately, Lamb the ‘Byron woman’, a figure remembered only as one of Byron's greatest ‘fans’, has subsumed Lamb the Romantic writer.
