Daniel Defoe's The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (1719) is one of the most revised and reproduced novels, ever. Defoe's own obsession with revising Crusoe's story and his island reflects a practice Defoe shares with the postcolonial writers who revisit his work.
