Prenatal intended duration of breastfeeding has been shown to be a powerful predictor of breastfeeding initiation and duration. This provides a tool to establish the risks for short duration of breastfeeding. Conclusion : It is necessary to identify the factors that influence mothers' plans, and to find means to intervene effectively.
