SUMMARY Examinations of cerebrospinal fluid have been carried out in whooping cough children at various ages, in an uncomplicated stage (33 cases, 41 punctures) and in stages with complications of various kinds of a non‐neurological character (15 cases, 16 punctures). The examinations demonstrate that there is no definite difference in the fluid (appearance, pressure, cell count, sugar content, albumin reactions, and bacteriological cultures) between the uncomplicated and the complicated group. The results are also in comparatively good agreement with those found when examining the cerebrospinal fluid from healthy individuals at the same ages.
