The primary purpose of this workshop was to present and discuss recent developments in molecular genetics of mammals, particularly the mouse. The workshop concerned the organization and interaction of genetic information regulating the expression of genes. The purpose of the meeting was also to bring together scientists with knowledge about genetic regulation of gene expression and about restriction mapping and sequencing of genomic DNA to encourage the synthesis of the two rapidly growing fields into specific studies.
