This thesis describes reflectance spectroscopic analyses of cutaneous vascular reactions in normal skin and responses to topical irritants, corticosteroid vasoconstriction and ultraviolet erythema. Skin optics are reviewed and theoretical mathematical considerations for cutaneous reflectance spectroscopic data analyses are described. Using our developed data analysing technique allowing erythemas to be dissolved into arterial and venous components selected dermatological models are described. The obtained data allow the following conclusions:
