Platelet adhesiveness measured with the glass‐bead column technique was found to be dependent on the age of the glass‐bead columns. Comparison of absolute levels of platelet adhesiveness may therefore not be valid unless columns are matched for age. Increases or decreases in platelet adhesiveness may be compared in columns of the same age irrespective of the absolute levels of adhesiveness.
