The light reflection behavior of ZrB 2 ‐based composites with SiC particles was examined in the infrared wavelength range of 1.5–20 μm and at room temperature. Effects of the amount and size of SiC particles on light reflection behavior were evaluated. The results showed that the light reflection behavior of the composites was closely linked with the light absorption of the added SiC particles, in absence of light scattering from the SiC particles. In addition, the light reflectance of the composites depended on the amount and size of the SiC particles. Increase in the amount and size of the SiC particles led to decrease in the light reflectance of the composites.
