In this article, I note the importance of A ntonio L auria‐ Perricelli's work where L auria‐Perricelli assesses the seminal work led by J ulian S teward on P uerto R ico. L auria‐Perricelli has interrogated the political labor that produced The People of Puerto‐Rico while he has recognized and acknowledged the importance of the work for anthropology. Although this dialectic is a challenging one, I maintain that it is equally fertile. It is a dialectic, however, that is absent from the field of modern G reek studies, where no ethnographic work has been carried out on the C old W ar by anthropologists who worked in and on G reece during that time with the result that the anthropological material that could have been gathered, considered, and analyzed, is forever lost.
