Abstract   Open‐heart surgery during pregnancy is challenging because it requires attention to both mother and fetus. A 31‐year‐old pregnant woman underwent surgery for a large ascending aorta aneurysm threatening rupture in the 12th week and then went on to a cesarean section at 38 weeks, which produced a healthy baby.
