Mini‐Abstract We present a 75‐year‐old woman with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis who underwent transesophageal echocardiography ( TOE ) as part of the routine examinations before scheduling transcatheter aortic valve implantation. The examination identified, in addition to severe calcific aortic stenosis, intimal thickening of the ascending aorta. Three‐dimensional (3D) TOE was performed to better characterize atherosclerotic plaque size, shape, and relationships with the surrounding aortic wall.
