A bstract A double‐blind crossover study was conducted for twenty‐four weeks to evaluate the effect of oral zinc sulfate therapy in 14 patients with decubitus ulcers. An objective method was used to determine ulcer (crater) volume. Statistical analysis of the findings in this small study showed that the difference in effect between zinc sulfate and placebo was not significant. However, the authors' impression of clinical efficacy leads them to recommend further study with a much larger number of patients.
