KMC, Manipal 1 Psoriasis is a common dermatological condition that is chronic and progressive. It affects almost all surface of the body. It presents with excessive growth of skin on areas like the head, elbows, nails, palms, trunk, soles, knees, abdomen and back. Psoriasis is a complex disease in which there are erythematous, sharply demarcating papules and rounded plaques covered by silvery scales. Sometimes these lesions are pruritic and furthermore, other exterior factors can worsen psoriasis which includes medications (lithium, beta blockers, and antimalarials) stress, and infections.
