EDITORIAL COMMENT: We accepted this paper for publication as it will interest readers involved with the management of gynaecological oncology patients, especially those with diarrhoea after chemotherapy. The paper makes the point that diarrhoea associated with chemotherapy may be due to Clostridium difficile, which can be effectively treated with metronidazole and should be looked for more frequently.
